**Cerita dari Blora** is a collection of short stories by PAT, written during the revolution from 1945 to 1949, while in and after his imprisonment in Bukit Duri, Jakarta. First published by Balai Pustaka in 1952, this collection has since been translated into various foreign languages, either in full or as individual stories. Each tale reflects events from the early years of the revolution in the author’s birthplace.

Pramoedya’s storytelling technique is so compelling that it feels like we are facing a genuine report—readers often wonder whether these experiences are drawn from the author's own life and that of his family. Despite being over 40 years old, these stories remain relevant due to their visionary perspective and universal values. Remarkably, they were written during his youth, between the ages of 22 and 25.
